3D Modelling proposal

3D Modelling Proposal

Nicole Fernley

Working Title: Zelda Game CGI

Scenario
For my 3d modelling project I have decided that I am going to produce my own scene from my own version of a game inspired by all of the Zelda games.  In which I will create a variety of 6 different models all relating to the game. The objects I will be creating are a sword, shield, a “time travelling” clock, elixir/potions, a castle and my own version of the character Link. I have decided to create a Zelda inspired game as it would appeal to my target audience and it would give me the opportunity to develop my skills in using cinema 4d as well as learn new techniques.

Target Audience
As I am making a game CGI that is inspired by Zelda, I need to think about my audience. With it being a game I am going to have a wide range audience since the game appeals to young children as well as teenagers and adults that still have an inner child inside them. Since the game is bright and colourful it appeals to the younger side of the spectrum since children are more susceptible to bright colours and associate them with being fun and happy. It also makes it easier to visually comprehend. However the game can look darker, which appeals to the older side of the spectrum. For my target audience I would aim it at people aged 10+.
As for the visual themes I am going to make my game scene look very bright coloured with themes of a forest. The weaponry I am going to create will look metal and glossy. The castle I am going to make will be a bit darker than the rest of the scene as I want it to stand out more
The constraints I may have while making my scenery will be that it will take a lot of time and effort to make off of my ideas. I feel that creating my version of the character; Link will be the most challenging and time consuming. Also including all of the intricate detail on the sword and shield could also be time consuming.

Advertising
Since my game models will not be animated I need to focus on making them look flawless with high resolution to have believable textures and materials for them to be worthy of being in a magazine, billboard or TV adverts. In addition my game model will be based of a an Nintendo game I am going to make my version of the game a bit more simplistic and less complex than I would if it was for an Xbox or PS3 due to graphical limitations and how much detail it can handle.

Legal and Ethical Constraints
Due to my idea being based of a game that had already been made I am going to have to consider the copyright laws. However Zelda is just an inspiration for my creation and I will possibly have to pay royalties.

The models I am making are include a shield, pocketwatch, crystals, bow and arrow, a scythe and a tree so I can surround all of  my other objects around it to make a scene.
